Ability to disable for projects

So projects like Servo and Rust have their own build system, and this plugin ends up clobbering the build because it uses the wrong rust version (etc).

I'd like the ability to turn this off for selected projects.

I'm not sure which part you are referring to.

If you're talking about the on-save cargo check, you can toggle it for the current project with Context Menu > Rust > On-Save Checking or the "Rust: Toggle Syntax Checking" command. (This sets the configuration value rust_syntax_checking in the .sublime-project file.) You can set rust_syntax_checking in settings ("Preferences: Rust Enhanced Settings") to change it globally.

If you're talking about the build command (Ctrl/⌘+B), then you'll need to define a custom build command that runs the command you want.

If it's something else, can you explain more about what you'd like to do?

Yeah I'm talking about the cargo check.

I don't use sublime-project files that often -- would that work even if I kept that file in the project's directory but did not open the project itself (and just opened files)

I don't think so. The setting will persist as long as the window is open, but will be forgotten when you close the window.

Given that rust-enhanced supports folder-specific config with the projects key already, can we have a rust_syntax_checking flag for the folder that overrides the global?

I think that should be possible. It might need some special-case support, but should be fairly easy.
