random idea: what if a relationship specified all of the roles associated?

• one relationship per source + target
• each relationship can have many roles (relationship types)
• pros
  • easier
• cons
  • loses any ability for per-relationship meta-data (we're not doing this yet, but maybe later?)
    • provenance / changes over time
