Future releases after v1.2

Hello,

I have built a freestanding cling RPM package from version 1.2, but I'd like to possibly update it to a newer version of LLVM. Do you plan on tagging a new release, maybe in the first half of 2026? I'd prefer not to try to build directly from HEAD, since it takes extra time to find a matching tag, or commit, from root-project/llvm-project that builds with it. If I wanted to submit a build issues patch would you accept it if it's against v1.2, or does it need to be only against HEAD?

I think only against HEAD, at https://github.com/root-project/root/pulls pinpointed at the cling/ subdirectory of that repo.

OK. I see 20901 has closed. I'll keep with v1.2 for now, but let me know if you make plans for a new release.

The section of lib/Interpreter/CMakeLists.txt I had to patch hasn't changed since v1.2. I'll take another look at it and maybe open another issue.
