[Feature] Add scan option to keep original filename instead of game title and not overwrite game title #5251
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm a user working with Chinese and Japanese ROM files, whose filenames include Han characters and Kana. When scanning the library, the application currently replaces the original filenames with romanized No-Intro titles. While the No-Intro metadata is useful, I would like the option to retain the native script names for my collection.
Describe the solution you'd like
Could we add a setting to let users choose whether to use metadata titles from the database or keep the original filename as the displayed game title? This toggle would preserve Han/Kana names for users who prefer them.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I’ve tried manually editing titles after scans, but changes get overwritten on rescan.
Additional context
Many of my ROMs use native East Asian scripts in filenames. I’d love to keep seeing these original Chinese/Japanese names instead of romanized ASCII names from No-Intro. Perhaps many people also hope to see their localized game names, and I appreciate the Romm team for finding a better solution. Thank you.
