Why

Nothing has reached npm, PyPI, Open VSX or the VS Code Marketplace since 2026-07-07. All five artefacts sit at 1.3.0 because main has not moved since that date, while develop carries 758 commits that no release train has picked up.

Measured on the live registries and the GitHub API today:

artefact published on develop stable tag
rocketride-server 3.3.1 3.3.0 server-v3.3.0 taken
vscode rocketride 1.3.0 1.2.0 vscode-v1.2.0 taken
npm rocketride 1.3.0 1.3.0 taken
PyPI rocketride 1.3.0 1.3.0 taken
PyPI rocketride-mcp 1.3.0 1.5.0 free

A release run from develop as it stood would have been green and shipped nothing. Every package would have been skipped by the tag and version-exists checks, except rocketride-mcp.

What this does

Bumps the four that needed it. Leaves client-mcp at 1.5.0, which is already a valid unused candidate.

  • rocketride-server 3.3.0 → 3.4.0
  • vscode rocketride 1.2.0 → 1.4.0 (1.3.0 is published, so it cannot be reused)
  • client-typescript 1.3.0 → 1.4.0
  • client-python 1.3.0 → 1.4.0
  • client-mcp 1.5.0, unchanged

The changelog cut rides this PR, as RELEASE.md requires, so the release body is a scoped [3.4.0] section instead of an ever-growing [Unreleased] blob. Run with scripts/release/cut-changelog.mjs.

Verified before choosing the numbers

Tags server-v3.4.0, vscode-v1.4.0, client-typescript-v1.4.0, client-python-v1.4.0, client-mcp-v1.5.0 are all absent. npm 1.4.0, PyPI rocketride 1.4.0, PyPI rocketride-mcp 1.5.0 and Open VSX 1.4.0 all return not-found.

I also checked that develop does not regress main. main holds 15 commits develop lacks, including the v3.3.1 shell-ui OAuth hotfix. That hotfix is present on develop, carried through the apps/shell-ui/ → packages/shell/ restructure, at packages/shell/rsbuild.config.mts:266.

What this PR does not do

It does not publish anything. Publishing fires on push to main and is gated by the release environment approval. This only makes develop releasable.

Version choice needs an owner's confirmation. I treated the accumulated work as a backward-compatible feature release. If anything in those 758 commits is breaking, these should be major bumps instead.

Nothing has reached npm, PyPI, Open VSX or the VS Code Marketplace since
2026-07-07. All five artefacts sit at 1.3.0 because `main` has not moved since
that date, while `develop` carries 758 commits of work that no release train
has ever picked up.

The versions on develop could not be released as they stood:

  server 3.3.0 < published 3.3.1, tag server-v3.3.0 taken
  vscode 1.2.0 < published 1.3.0, tag vscode-v1.2.0 taken
  client-typescript 1.3.0 = published, tag taken
  client-python 1.3.0 = published, tag taken
  client-mcp 1.5.0 unpublished, tag free

Every one of them would have been skipped by the tag and version-exists checks,
so a release run would have been green and shipped nothing.

This bumps the four that needed it and leaves client-mcp at 1.5.0, which is
already a valid unused candidate. Verified free before choosing them: the tags
server-v3.4.0, vscode-v1.4.0, client-typescript-v1.4.0, client-python-v1.4.0 and
client-mcp-v1.5.0 are all absent, and npm 1.4.0, PyPI 1.4.0, PyPI mcp 1.5.0 and
Open VSX 1.4.0 all return not-found.

The changelog cut rides this PR as RELEASE.md requires, so the release body is a
scoped section rather than an ever-growing [Unreleased] blob.
