Unable to add sensor in HA 2023.7

It seems the sensor notation described is no longer valid.
How can I add the sensor to configuration.yaml now (after having added the custom integration)?

I am seeing the same issue. There hasn't been any updates since February 2020. Not sure if the project is being maintained.
