You did not botch it at all! Its a tricky thing, when a PR comes from outside the org (which you have to do if you are not on the global team), as certain actions will not run when the source is external (for security). So we merge into another branch first, then let the checks run and do changes there if needed. you did everything as you should! I just need to add this information to the wiki! So thank you for exposing the need for that!
