Can I have the trigger for the animation to be an Icon on the top-left corner instead of being the entire gridtile?

So this package triggers the focused animation when we click on the gridtile, anywhere on the gridtile. I would want the animation to only trigger if the user taps on a small icon, like a menu item. is that possible?
