How to make Restlet https server work in Android 5

I need to have a https server with restlet. I tried all possible connector and could not make it work. The only connector that might work is Jetty. I have Jetty 9 and Java 8 running Androud 5. The jetty http works. The jetty https cannot pass handshake. Any suggestion as how to make the https restlet server for Android 5?

There are a few connectors (NIO, simple, jetty) that claim support https. But latest version of restlet seems have no reliable way for https over Android L.

I want to have the self generated key store/certificate to work in Android L.

Restlet Server NIO connector is not reliable/consistent for ANDROID. I have made some changes to fix this in one of my previous project. Can you point me to your previous project? When will the restlet 3 be released? Will there be more reliable support for Android?

Our current plan for Restlet Framework 3 is to release one milestone per quarter (one planned in December) until we get enough feedback and make enough progress, so no actual delivery date set yet unfortunately.

Our plan to support Android moving forward is to rely on Netty which is now compatible with Android. See this slidesdeck for additional info on v3: http://www.slideshare.net/restlet/restlet-framework-ng-66188389

In the short term, Android HTTP(S) server is not easy because the current connector doesn't work well or at all on Android. The main option I can see it to explore the i-Jetty connector for Android and see if it could work with Restlet Framework as a replacement for the regular Jetty connector. Very likely some code would need to be adjusted in the Restlet side to make this work, but maybe not a lot:
