Hi surefire, not sure you still maintain this but here goes.
First of all, thank you for your work, I recently switched away from Guake because I found your extension! I use it in conjunction with Hide minimized, because the way Guake toggle works removes it from the activities overview when it's not visible. A feature I missed though was hiding it when focus is lost, as I use the the quake style terminal for quick and dirty stuff that I don't need in my face unless I explicitly pulled it up just then. Tried to keep this minimal and style wise in line with your work. Maybe you find this worth including.
