Work on the internet
If you want to run your HFS on the internet, first verify if it is already working. You can do on your own, or use the "Verify" tool you find in the Admin-panel > Internet. It looks like this:
If it suggests to "fix it" for you, you can try that of course. What it does, is to try to configure your modem/router. If your modem doesn't have such feature, you won't get the "fix" offered, but even if you do, the attempt configuration may fail, and you can still try to configure your modem manually.
If you get a "Double NAT" under the Internet icon, then the modem configuration will probably not solve your problem, because there is an extra layer (after your modem) that you are not passing.
HFS cannot help in such situation. Try searching for a solution. But basically your options are:
- ask your internet provider to offer you the service you are missing
- change internet provider, for another that provides you with an individual public IP address (doesn't need to be static, which is more expensive)
- find a service that doesn't require you to change internet provider. Here's a list.
