I just checked and odo on Podman currently does not panic if the Devfile contains pre-stop events. They are just not handled at this time, either upon stopping odo dev with Ctrl+C or explicitly running odo delete component.

Closing this issue as not planned then.
Pre-stop events will be supported via #6424.
