Opening Recipe from cookbook fails

Describe the bug
From a cookbook, clicking on "view" button flashes recipe and then returns to cookbook

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Drill into a cookbook and click the view button on a recipe item
2. Observe that the UI flashes the recipe for half a second and then returns to cookbook recipe list

Expected behavior
view button works
