backup tab - location of backup

Hi tidy looking program.
I have a question re the backups tab. I don't use PBS and run all backups thru the proxmox GUI

The storage i select is my wd-nas type nfs for my backups but they dont show at all on the backups page. Is it only searching local for backups? Is this likely to change?

Yes you're right, at the moment backups is only reporting PBS related backups. I'll get PVE backups/snapshots intergrated, it shouldn't be too much work. I'll leave this open and report back. Thanks for the feedback

Great question! I've implemented full PVE backup support that should show your NFS backups.

Test the Fix

I've made it easy to test this feature before the next official release:

1. Update your install script (this gets the latest testing functionality):

   sudo /opt/pulse-proxmox/scripts/install-pulse.sh

   Select Y when it asks to update the installer script.

2. Select the test branch: From the menu, choose "Test a feature branch" and select feature/pve-backups-support.

What This Adds

• ✅ Shows PVE backup tasks (vzdump) in the backups tab
• ✅ Displays storage backups including NFS, local, and other storage types
• ✅ VM/CT snapshots with detailed view
• ✅ Works with PVE-only setups (no PBS required)

The backups tab will now show a "Source" column indicating whether backups come from PBS or PVE, and a "Location" column showing the storage location (like your NFS storage).

Return to Stable

Once you've tested it, you can easily return to the stable version:

sudo /opt/pulse-proxmox/scripts/install-pulse.sh

Choose "Update Pulse to the latest version" to go back to the stable release.

Let me know if your NFS backups show up correctly! 🚀

brill - I will check - i did install the "easy" route thru proxmox scripts but i see that non updateable - will probably remove that and roll out a container - thanks - then i saw the install script - it failed first time on version - but second time sailed thru and updated - i confirm that backups now works!!!! - well done

Great stuff. Yeah right now the install script is the easiest method whilst we sort out the community script. But hopefully I'll have a fix for that soon! Glad you figured it out.

This may be expected behaviour due to installing pulse via the Proxmox Community script and as previously mentioned, this is not updateable at the moment. However, my UI shows me at version 3.12.3 but I still don't have PVE backups showing in the Bakcup Tab. It doesn't matter which disk I backup to, nothing shows as having a latest backup. However, the diagnostics shows "Found 78 PVE backups and 0 VM/CT snapshots. Note: PBS is not configured, showing only local PVE backups."

I updated from the proxmox community script using
sudo /opt/pulse-proxmox/scripts/install-pulse.sh

Thats what updated it and PVE backups show for me.

I've managed to update to version 3.13.0 but I'm still seeing nothing in the Backup section for the PVE backups....

I know there are backups as I can see them in the Proxmox UI. Do the backups or storage locations needs to be configured in a certain way to work?

It's not you, it's still a work in progress. I dont have any PVE backups so I was limited when testing. Hopefully fixed soon.

Just in case it helps, I did notice that you can align a PVE backup against a node. I had left it as 'any', not sure if the api for each node would return the backups if they aren't specifically assigned to a node. FYI - I've tested assigning a backup to a node and still nothing.

I'll just wait for an update. I was going to start going through log files but it doesn't look like you have logger configured and all output is going to console.log which as the server is just started in the background means that it will be going nowhere?

UPDATE:

I ran the server in the console and I can see the 'DataFetcher' is bringing back information about the backups so this may be a UI rendering issue?
