Describe the bug
Getting this reoccuring in Proxmox log
pve04 sshd-session[3657774]: Connection closed by authenticating user root 192.168.0.30< ip of Pulse container port 45680 [preauth]

Environment:

• Pulse Version: Latest
• Installation Type: ProxmoxVE LXC,

Can anyone else check and see if they are getting them too...thanks.

Do you allow root login?

PermitRootLogin yes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config (line 33)

I receive this message from the nodes that lose connection in the cluster. I need to restart the node so that it can reconnect with other Proxmox nodes.

As far as the root log on it says prohibit-password , and its happeneing on all of the nodes and they are connected to the cluster...

I changed it to yes, and uncommented the line, but still get the same log update on all of the nodes. BTW the 192.168.0.30 is the IP of Pulse. rebooting, didn't help I uncommented permit root logon and changed it from yes back to prohibit-password...no change..so not everything is back to comented line of #PermitRootLogin prohibit-password

These SSH attempts are from temperature monitoring (optional feature that reads CPU/NVMe temps via sensors -j). Pulse doesn't use SSH for Proxmox communication - only HTTPS API.

Modern versions (v4.24.0+) block SSH from containers for security. Check your version or set PULSE_FORCE_CONTAINER=true if container detection is failing. See docs/TEMPERATURE_MONITORING.md for proxy setup.
