tool is useful, but how to find all names ?

Wow - that's quite a discrepancy between total zombie processes and the details. Make sure you have the latest version - there have been some fixes. Then, I would try running the tool elevated to see if that gives more information.

If that doesn't work then use Task Manager to view the Handles count for all running processes and see if one process has a huge handle count (add the Handles column and then sort by it). I hope that helps.

seeing task man's details tab helped, though, thanks)

I should have realized that the tool was running elevated - it complains if it isn't.

So, who was hogging the handles? Share the knowledge please.

maybe, improperly installed
it held near 400000 handles, but some system processes hold a few (1000 - 5000 each) too: didn't know Windows needs so many descriptors
