great script, but unfortunately it didn't work on my Mac, because the "date" command expects quite different parameters. I fixed that.
If you could take a moment to check whether it still works on whatever system you are using, I would be very delighted.
If it doesn't, maybe we can figure out some way to make it work on both systems...

PS: I also changed the input format to a more programmer-friendly "YYY-MM-DD". 😃
