[Question] How dependent on the linked "patched-editor" branch is the plugin editor? #9

To elaborate, I know the plugin editor needs the game to be there, I'm just curious as to how dependent it is on that specific branch. If that is changed to something else, such as current ES master, is that going to completely break things? Or will it just remove certain safeties (like the fact that the pilot file isn't actually saved while in the editor)?
