Open Chords is an AGPL-3.0, local-first desktop application for turning a user-authorized media range into an editable, timed chord track for playback, practice, and export.
The v1 product/technical specification and implementation plan are complete. Implementation is underway: the repository currently contains the toolchain, canonical domain contracts, hardened Electron shell with typed IPC, and the durable main-owned Project Library. Product workflows beyond those foundations remain tracked in the implementation plan.
Planning is tracked in GitHub Issues. See the canonical Open Chords v1 Wayfinder map.
The consolidated planning baseline is docs/specification/open-chords-v1.md.
Execution is tracked from docs/planning/open-chords-v1-implementation-plan.md and the Open Chords v1 milestone.
Implementation notes document the canonical domain contracts, Project Library, local media capabilities, toolchain foundation, and unsigned release packaging. Users install releases with the installation guide.
Research documents preserve point-in-time evidence and exploratory recommendations. Where they conflict with a later accepted decision, the consolidated v1 specification is authoritative.
