Feature request: Report VPN connection utilization/speed

What's the feature 🧐

Enable reporting network utilization of the VPN connection. Either a flag that enables periodic output to console, and/or a Control API endpoint.

Extra information and references

It would be a nice way to confirm traffic is actually flowing over the connection as expected
