Reasons for the request
We are the original creators and trademark holders of “CambAI,” the AI SDK and platform that our organization has developed, maintained, and publicly advertised since early 2023. The current PyPI package was published by a third party who has no affiliation with CambAI, Inc., and did so without our permission.
- Unauthorized use of our trademark: The package was published by an unaffiliated third party without permission to use our trademarked name. It provides only a minimal wrapper around our API endpoints, which risks confusing our users and diluting our brand.
- Lack of response: We have made documented attempts to contact the current owner via PyPI messaging and e-mail; none have been acknowledged.
- Abandonment: No issue tracker, or release process is visible for the existing “cambai” project—evidence it is abandoned and no longer maintained.
Because this name is central to our identity and developer ecosystem, and because the current package is infringing and inactive, we believe this transfer is essential.
