Investigate why the pypy3 CI job is timing out

The CI job for pypy3 is timing out very often; I've restarted at least 10 CI builds as a result of this issue.

I'm opening this issue to bring it to the notice of others since I'm unable to figure out what exactly the problem is here.

If nothing else, this would make it more encouraging for myself to look into this when I have the time because closing issues has something satisfying to it. :P
