Description
If I omit the dnsPrefix
argument when attempting to create a ManagedCluster, I see an error like:
error: Code="InvalidParameter" Message="The value of parameter dnsPrefix is invalid. Error details: DNS prefix '' is invalid. DNS prefix must contain between 1 and 54 characters. Please see https://aka.ms/aks-naming-rules for more details.. Please see https://aka.ms/aks-naming-rules for more details." Target="dnsPrefix"
It seems to me either of the following options would be improvements:
- Mark the property as required in the type definition (as well as the documentation, of course) https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi-azure-nextgen/blob/9086bdba5e490fd771109aebaf6b792154977621/sdk/nodejs/containerservice/v20200901/managedCluster.ts#L266-L269
- Imitate the Azure CLI's behavior, which states "If not specified, generate a hostname using the managed cluster and resource group names."
