The main reason for trying to request for SMB egg is MinIO is very unrelyable when it comes to backing up large scale game servers or even files that are 50GB+ causing the backups error, and community or github does not seem to have answer why is that happening.
I have used SMB protocol before for remote backups of game servers and it worked just fine on server 250GB+. Yes, it is not exactly the best solution for remote backups, but surely better than having artifical limit of 50GB on MinIO, plus the bonus you can connect to it using windows explorer and dump some things into VPS sounds also handy.
