The update notice tells users to install @prisma/cli and does not recognise a global prisma install #306
In packages/cli/src/update-check.ts, every update instruction names @prisma/cli@latest, and isLikelyGlobalNpmEntrypoint matches only prisma-cli bin paths. A user with a global prisma install gets the docs-link fallback instead of a concrete command, and the command it would give names the wrong package. This became visible after the binary was renamed to prisma.
Recorded in the prisma-cli-v8 project ledger, which is being deleted at project close-out:
-**`isLikelyGlobalNpmEntrypoint` (update-check.ts) matches only `prisma-cli` install paths**, so a globally-installed `prisma` gets the docs-link fallback instead of a concrete update command; `selectUpdateInstruction` still names `@prisma/cli`. Newly conspicuous after the CLI_NAME → prisma rename.
