Powersync failed to initialise on iOS 18.5 expo react-native

I had Powersync setup on my react-native project over a month ago and it used to work, I also configured Full text search. However, since about a week ago I have not been able to get Powersync to initialise when testing application on a physical device, the logger shows this error:

Error: PowerSync failed to fetch data: [react-native-quick-sqlite] SQL execution error: powersync_replace_schema powersync_init]

What I've done so far:

• Tested on simulater iPhone 16 iOS 18.4 - Powersync initialises, fetches credentials, and loads the data.
• Checked the generated sqlite file in AppData - File generated, however no tables.
• Cleared AppData
• Deleted and rebuilt the application

Version:
React native: 0.76.3
Expo: 52.0.11
@powersync/react-native: 1.18.0
@journeyapps/react-native-quick-sqlite: 2.4.2

Thanks for the report, and apologies for this! Could you please try upgrading @journeyapps/react-native-quick-sqlite to version 2.4.4?

There's an issue when the latest powersync-sqlite-core CocoaPod is used in a project not using the latest version of our RNQS package. I think upgrading is the only way to resolve this.

Thank you @simolus3, upgrading to v2.4.4 fixes the issue. In addition to the update, I had to change the following in the ios/Podfile.lock

• powersync-sqlite-core (from 0.3.12 to 0.3.14)
• react-native-quick-sqlite (2.4.4):
  • powersync-sqlite-core (from ~> 0.3.12 to ~> 0.3.14)

And then ran pod repo update && pod install in the ios directory
