High CPU and Energy usage when idle in osx

• I have searched the tracker for existing similar issues and I know that duplicates will be closed

Describe the Issue

When leaving postman open in the background, the fan on my computer starts to run very high. After some investigation, I have discovered that closing postman makes my computer much happier, and the fan turns off once it has cooled down a bit.

Steps To Reproduce

1. open postman
2. run some queries to make sure your api changes took place
3. leave postman open in the background
4. wait 15+ minutes
5. wonder why there's a jet engine running nearby

Postman is currently using 150+% of CPU all the time. I see some flickering in the "response" panel, looks like its related as collapsing that panel decreases the CPU considerably.

@mallowigi This sounds like it might be some visual/constant rerendering issue...
Do you mind sharing more details about the issue? We'd really appreciate following details:

• Can you reproduce it again?
• Info about your platform (system type, browser type/version or Postman app version)
• Type of view (horizontal or vertical split)
• Does this happen only with particular response loaded in the Response panel?
• If so, could you share some details - ideally the response itself (but of course this might be sensitive data) or the size and type of the response.

Any more information is really appreciated. 😅

It reproduces constantly, and I saw it happening for at least three four months, I just didn't bother reporting it because I surmised it would be fixed by one of the releases

More information:

• Mac OSX Sonoma
• Postman desktop 10.21.7-ui-231218-0444
• Vertical split
• Happens with GraphQL requests. If i collapse the panel the cpu drops. It doesnt' seem to happen with normal REST requests

Hey @mallowigi, sorry to keep you waiting with the update. We've released a fix for this issue as a part of February release (Postman 10.23).
Could you please update and keep us posted if the issue ever happens again?

It's been a long time, I haven't checked if this issue was happening again, but the blinking is gone for a long time at least.

close it and the fan stops immediately
