Describe the issue:

The working directory indicator truncates the working directory to ... when the console becomes small, even when there is plenty of room to show the working directory.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Start an R or Python session in any directory, then make the console somewhat small.

Expected or desired behavior:

There's plenty of room to show the working directory, so it should be shown.
