Investigate Netlify as possible deployment infrastructure without piling onto an existing server. It's just static content.

This was pretty tricky, but I got it to work. Here's a temporary URL to preview the docs:

Netlify creates a unique preview URL with a hash for every build, which is triggered on every push to a PR against 6-dev.

When I was about to add @ksuess and @tkimnguyen, Netlify warned me:

Inviting 1 new member will add 1 extra seat at $15.00/month to your monthly bill.

I applied Plone Documentation as an Open Source Project, and I am awaiting a response.

Another way to deploy for free is to GitHub pages with Jekyll, e.g. https://docs.github.com/en/pages/setting-up-a-github-pages-site-with-jekyll/about-github-pages-and-jekyll and you can set a custom domain

How would that work with our chosen infrastructure of Sphinx and MyST?

It's been a couple of business days since I requested an Open Source License. Given the slow response, and the inability to automatically renew a secure certificate for a custom domain on Netlify without using them for domain management, I'm going to close this issue as "will not fix".

If anyone finds information contrary to my findings, I would really appreciate it.

Otherwise, we can discuss which service might fit the bill in #1146
