Do you have XDG_DATA_HOME or any other variables set?

k well that shouldn’t make a difference, we put the pantry at ~/.local/share/pkgx on Linux either way. What is at Users/username/.local/share/pkgx?

Edit: k so this is Mac? That could be why if XDG_DATA_HOME is not set I think there's a difference between how pkgx and libpkgx are handling the pantry path that may be what is going on and I can fix.

yes, that would probably be it, just tested. You have XDG_DATA_HOME (or other XDG vars) set?

Yeah it's because the rust library we use to get these dirs ignores XDG_ on macOS.
