[Bug]: Predictive text and keyboard autocomplete do not work correctly in the iOS app composer #6141

Description

Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.

Area

apps/mobile

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the T3 Code iOS app.
  2. Open a thread and focus the composer.
  3. Start typing a message to the agent using the iOS keyboard.
  4. Observe the keyboard suggestion/predictive-text area and autocomplete behavior.

Expected behavior

The iOS keyboard should provide its normal predictive text and autocomplete suggestions while typing in the agent composer, unless the user has disabled those features in iOS settings.

Actual behavior

Predictive text does not appear or does not work reliably in the composer. The keyboard does not show the expected predicted text/autocomplete suggestions while typing to the agent.

Impact

This makes composing prompts on iOS slower and less consistent than in other text fields.

are you on iOS 27 beta? I've found this behavior across other apps being flaky in the beta so haven't been able to verify it's on us or not

I am on the beta version of iOS, but the keyboard works fine on other apps.

Can you clarify what issues you're having? I have found the Discord app keyboard also flaky but now when i tested the auto complete works fine in T3 Code https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5e606602-e223-47b0-8352-dc9a3785befc

Hey, I was having the issue yesterday, and I just reset the app. I killed it and opened it again. Now it's working fine. I guess it was a phone issue.

closing as resolved. The reporter confirmed a restart fixed it, and #6323 also preserves predictive text and keyboard suggestions.
