    @LLBlumire

    I hit the same desktop:bootstrap-ssh-bearer-session failure and did some digging from both the remote and local sides.

    Setup:

    • Local desktop version: 0.0.25-nightly.20260515.295
    • Remote CLI version: t3 v0.0.25-nightly.20260515.295
    • Remote Node: v24.16.0 via Volta
    • Remote OS: AlmaLinux
    • Remote server command launched by SSH bootstrap: t3 serve --host 127.0.0.1 --port 3773 --base-dir ~/.t3

    The remote server is reachable through the desktop-managed SSH tunnel. Server trace shows:

    • GET /.well-known/t3/environment returns 200
    • POST /api/auth/bootstrap/bearer returns 200
    • Auth session insert succeeds

    The response body from /api/auth/bootstrap/bearer is valid JSON:

    {
      "authenticated": true,
      "role": "client",
      "sessionMethod": "bearer-session-token",
      "expiresAt": "2026-06-26T13:15:36.023Z",
      "sessionToken": "..."
    }

    The local desktop then fails with:

    DesktopSshRemoteApiError: SSH remote API request failed during bootstrap-bearer-session
    caused by:
    SchemaError: Expected DateTime.Utc, got "2026-06-26T13:15:36.023Z"
    at ["expiresAt"]

    This looks like a schema mismatch rather than an SSH/connectivity issue.

    In packages/contracts/src/auth.ts, AuthBearerBootstrapResult.expiresAt is declared as:

    expiresAt: Schema.DateTimeUtc

    But the SSH desktop path fetches normal JSON via response.json, so the DateTime.Utc object has already serialized to an ISO string. Effect Schema behavior appears to confirm the mismatch:

    • Schema.DateTimeUtc rejects "2026-06-26T13:15:36.023Z"
    • Schema.DateTimeUtcFromString accepts it

    Relevant source paths in v0.0.25-nightly.20260515.295:

    • packages/contracts/src/auth.ts
    • apps/server/src/auth/http.ts
    • apps/desktop/src/ssh/DesktopSshRemoteApi.ts
    • packages/ssh/src/tunnel.ts

    @Pearcekieser

    Seems like this is a dupe of: #2665?
