Summary
While a provider question card is open in T3 Code Desktop, selecting a visible $ skill suggestion does not insert the selected skill. The partially typed prefix remains in the composer, so the skill cannot be sent from that interaction. This still occurs in nightly 0.0.43-nightly.20260923.2150. Related open report: #7805.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a Codex thread in T3 Code Desktop and have the agent ask a question that displays the question card.
- In the composer below the question card, type a partial skill invocation such as
$write-to- until the matching skill appears in the suggestion menu.
- Click the visible skill suggestion.
- Inspect the composer text and try to send the intended full skill invocation.
Expected behavior
The question-answer composer should remain editable and should not offer a selectable skill suggestion that does nothing. If skill invocation is supported there, selecting the suggestion should complete the token and allow the user to submit it. If the pending question only accepts plain text, the skill picker should be suppressed so the user can answer the question and then send the skill from the normal chat composer.
Actual behavior
The suggestion is visible, but clicking it makes no visible insertion. The composer still contains $write-to-, so the intended $write-to-obsidian invocation is not sent. The provided screenshots show the question card, the suggestion, and the unchanged partial text. Whether keyboard selection, closing the card, or restarting the app changes the result has not been verified for this build.
Affected area
apps/desktop composer while a question card is open; this may involve shared apps/web composer behavior, but that has not been separately reproduced.
Runtime or environment
T3 Code Nightly 0.0.43-nightly.20260923.2150 (version read from the installed desktop app); Codex provider, GPT-6 Sol. macOS desktop. The question card content and thread identity are omitted from this public report.
Evidence
Reporter-provided screenshots show the question card, the visible skill suggestion, and the unchanged partial composer text after the reported click; they are not attached to this issue. #7805 already tracks a similar failure in the question answer composer, including earlier nightly reproductions.
Impact
The user cannot complete and send the selected skill invocation through the picker while responding to an agent question. The report does not establish whether other composer actions are affected on this build.
Additional context
A passing regression check is to open an agent question card and type a partial $ skill name. The input must remain editable and able to submit an answer; the picker must either be absent in a plain-text answer field or complete a selection that can actually be sent. Please compare this with #7805; this report adds a current nightly observation rather than claiming a separate root cause.
