Incompatibility with gb4e

I think that this package generally is incompatible with gb4e. This means that anyone writing about linguistics/language has to use a different package if they provide linguistic examples in the text along with tables needing multiple columns.

The following uses gb4e as an example:

I can't get this to compile when multirow is loaded.

Your example also fails without multirow. I also tried the example from the gb4e documentation and it compiles even with multirow. So I suspect that multirow is not the problem.

Error message from the log file:

./gb4eexample.tex:13: LaTeX Error: Not allowed in LR mode.

Here is the file that I tested. If you have an example that succeeds without multirow but fails with multirow, please let me know. But please give a complete LaTeX file that I compile without having to add anything.

I found the problem in your example: You have single backslashes (\) at the end of some lines instead of \\.

So here is a corrected version that works with and without multirow. I also improved the layout a bit to make it more readable, but that does not influence the processing. And by the way, gb4e makes it possible to use sub- and superscripts without $, s0 I removed these too.
