Akan Name Generator

Welcome to the Akan Name Generator! This project is a simple JavaScript-based application that generates Akan names based on the day of the week a person is born. The Akan people of Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire and Togo frequently name their children after the day of the week they were born and the order in which they were born. These "day names" have further meanings concerning the soul and character of the person. Middle names have considerably more variety and can refer to their birth order, twin status, or an ancestor's middle name.

Introduction

Akan names are part of the cultural heritage of the Akan people. Each day of the week corresponds to a specific name for males and females. This generator allows users to input their date of birth and gender to receive their corresponding Akan name.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

Installation

1. Clone the repository

2. Navigate to the project directory

cd Akan

3. Open "index.html" in your web browser to run the application.

Usage

1. Open index.html in a web browser.
2. Enter your date of birth in the provided input field.
3. Select your gender (male or female).
4. Click the "Generate Akan Name" button.
5. Your Akan name will be displayed based on the day of the week you were born.
