Describe the bug
Not really a bug. What is the status of the common/preview directory? It's only used in the south africa project and the last change was 7 years ago on docker@eb1077 and it doesn't work anymore due to url changes.
If there are any ambitions to get it running again, I would volunteer to do so.
Haha, yes I was going to say, I had completely forgotten about this experiment, and was going to bet Peter didn't even know about it. 😆
I do think it's a good thing to have, @arnesetzer if you want to brush it up that would be super awesome. I agree the autocomplete element is probably the best autocomplete tooling that exists, though it's not strictly speaking Pelias specific
Autocomplete-element is currently not an option as it relies on this line which has the protocol hardcoded to https and my motivation to create self-signed certificates is not that great 😁.
Honestly, I was just thinking of updating the leaflet dependency and changing the tile URL.

Interesting, I didn't even know we had this 😆
@orangejulius maybe you remember the history of this, seems like a nice thing to have.
The libs are very out-of-date, I wonder if we can use https://github.com/geocodeearth/autocomplete-element instead, it should be configurable enough to point to a different host than our default api cluster.
