Description

I haven't had a chance to work through the various presentations but just noting here that it might be worth linking to these two fantastic learning resources for basic Git:

  1. http://happygitwithr.com/

  2. This set of lessons has been used to teach Git to thousands of people worldwide as part of the Software Carpentry program and is based on all sorts of tested pedagogical principles:
    http://swcarpentry.github.io/git-novice/
It's entirely hands-on with the intention that the instructor is typing out the lesson code on screen. Contains some good simple exercises too.
