Garmin Analysis

This project is a tool to analyze your Garmin data. It uses the GarminDB library to download and analyze your Garmin data.

Note

This project is highly vibe-coded. Most of the code was generated with the help of AI, so expect rough edges — review before relying on it and feel free to fix things up as you go.

Setup

1. Create a GarminConnectConfig.json in the .garminDb/ directory. See documentation in GarminDB repository for more details.

2. Create a virtual environment and install the dependencies:

uv sync

3. Download the Garmin data:

uv run garmindb_cli.py -f ./.garminDb --all --download --import --analyze

4. Start the dashboard:

./dashboard/launch.sh

5. Open the dashboard in your browser at http://localhost:8000/dashboard/index.html

Download Garmin data

Important

Run the following commands from the root of the repository.

Run this command to download all the Garmin data (first time):

uv run garmindb_cli.py -f ./.garminDb --all --download --import --analyze

Run this to update the data by downloading the latest activities:

uv run garmindb_cli.py -f ./.garminDb --all --download --import --analyze --latest
