Dengue Spreading Analysis on Recife/PE, Brazil

This project analyzes how Dengue has spread through the years in Recife-PE/Brazil.

What is Dengue?

Dengue is a disease caused by a virus, transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, that also transmits diseases like Zika and Chikungunya. Dengue has characteristic symptoms: high fever, muscle and joint pain, headache and eyes, lack of appetite and red spots on the body (Classical Dengue) and in extreme cases can lead to death.

Motivation

The point of the analysis is to show how dengue has increased in number of cases and controlled since 2013, what factors may be associated with this increase and what actions have been taken to control this terrible advance. The data used in this analysis is open and you can easily download from Recife state website.

Implementation and Reproduction

This Analysis was done using Python 3.6, make sure you have the same python version and the necessary components mentioned below if you want to reproduce the project on your own device. The project scenario is entirely academic and the data used in the analysis are public privacy.

Datasets

This project got it's data from available open data disponibilized here. Over this, we decided to work over the Dengue cases between 2013 and 2018.
