Overdrive powerup shouldn't increase turn speed

Currently Overdrive makes your ship faster as well as your weapon firing rate; this is mostly OK, except that it also increases turn speed which makes it harder for people using joysticks to aim.
I would suggest it should increase movement speed only. Turn speed should not be affected.

This probably should be a toggle option somewhere under gameplay options. Gamepad users might want it.

I'm not sure if this would be really helpful for joystick players. Aiming is not only done via rotation, your ship never stands still. It is always a combination of movement/sliding and rotation, and if one of them changes from what you're used to it is harder for joysticks players to hit a thing. However, as a joystick player, I really don't mind the overdrive being as it is.

Good insight and indicates that if we do what roncli suggests - a toggle option - perhaps it should turn off both movement and turning, not just one or the other. Might be worth further community discussion before going ahead with a specific change.

I'm not sure I agree with turning off increased move speed, because that's kind of the point of one of the advantages of overdrive. It makes you faster, ie: you're able to chase down or get away from players quicker.

I can agree on making turning a toggle, however, and I don't see a reason to limit this option to just controller users.
