Apps do not start and show loading... forever

I installed the notifications app and tried starting it but it stays at the loading... box and it does not start. I have the same problem with other apps. Can anyone help?

Could be that you installed the widget and the main messages app is missing.

How did you manage to try and run it?

Because as that says, it: Provides the default notify module used by applications to display notifications on the screen. This module is installed by default by client applications such as the Gadgetbridge app.

It's not an app as such, there's not a single file that you can run, and it shouldn't appear in the Launcher. It's a library that allows other apps to call it to display notifications

How did you manage not to install the dependencies? They should be installed by default?

Or did you go and remove them before trying to run it?

To be honest i don't know anymore. I'm sorry, i opened this post too fast. I installed this i think https://banglejs.com/apps/?id=messages&readme and then it worked. Before that i installed another messages app and maybe overlooked something. Thank you for your help.

Ok, thanks! Let us know if there's something that could potentially be done to stop this happening - like if you installed iOS then uninstalled a bunch of stuff, maybe it should have prompted "Do you really want to uninstall this, it's in use"

I guess if there's an error while loading the app such that the 'loading...' message is left on the screen, maybe we should print the error on the screen too

We already have a confirmation for uninstalling, but you're right, modifying that if an app is used will be helpful. Especially because most features used are present through apps rather than a central OS, this would be very handy to make sure you don't break something that uses that app.

I've just added some code so that if you try and remove an app that's used, it adds another line saying what it's used by
