Subject: [TMSMultiLab] Meeting #11: The eyes are the window to brain excitability (Phivos Phylactou) - Friday 28th November, 14:00 GMT (Discussion #44)
Dear All @TMSMultiLab/meetings<https://github.com/orgs/TMSMultiLab/teams/meetings>
Last month we heard Daniel Corp presenting the BigNIBS data<https://bignibsdata.com/> sharing repository and project. This project builds on the two massive papers that Daniel wrote - on thetaburst<https://doi.org/10.1016/j.brs.2020.07.018> and MEP<https://doi.org/10.1016/j.clinph.2021.06.014> variability across people and laboratories. This large Multi-Lab collaboration was one of the inspirations for setting up TMSMultiLab, so we send out some 💙 to the BigNIBS team!
Daniel has very kindly shared his presentation, so that is linked on the Meetings<https://github.com/TMSMultiLab/TMSMultiLab/wiki/Meetings#past-meetings> page.

There's only one more meeting in 2025 😱. It takes place 2 weeks today at 14:00 GMT:
Phivos Phylactou<https://github.com/orgs/TMSMultiLab/people/phivph> will tell us about his work on using pupil dilation and other oculometrics as an index of TMS effectiveness:
"The eyes are the window to the soul brain excitability"
The meeting link is here:

Future meetings: We need presenters! I have added myself into January, but I'd much rather listen to other people. If you would like to lead discussion on a topic - can be a past project, planned project, a discussion on anything, or you will host an external speaker - then let me know when you can present and we'll fit you in. So far, the last Friday of the month at 14:00 is the default, but we can change that:
________________________________
Time-zone Surfing: I would like to have at least one meeting every 3 or 4 being at non-UK-friendly times. We could run an early morning meeting for our friends in the East, and a late afternoon / evening meeting for our friends in the West. If you are not on GMT, then get in touch and suggest a meeting topic - we'll come to you.
________________________________
Smaller projects: If you are currently, or about to start, collecting TMS data, then we have some small ways you can become part of Multi-Laboratory studies. This was the topic of the August meeting<https://github.com/TMSMultiLab/TMSMultiLab/wiki/Meetings#past-meetings>, and you can find out more and signal your involvement here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jG2D9Itunc-HQjXGrj7Jk-LiY-imPAA7C6iVQfy5B0M/edit?usp=sharing>. It doesn't take much - as little as writing down two numbers for each participant, or making some small tweaks to your design and procedure. We'll write a paper next year if we get enough data.
________________________________
There is no TMSMultiLab Christmas meeting, so feel free to wear your 🦌 or 🎅 outfit on the 28th November. Instead, I'll produce some sort of 'Annual Report' of what we've been up to, and send that around. We could include anything you like in there - grants applied for or won, labs you've set up, papers published, or anecdotes about 🧲⚡. to be determined...
cheers,
Nick
