YouTube Premium Download Speeds Unusable

Question

Hello, I'm not sure when it happened but I only noticed it now since I wanted to actually download some videos again onto my youtube app for later viewing and could always do this before on Revanced since I had YT Premium.

However, now it seems that I can't do that anymore, at least not reliably. I have no clue what YouTube did on their side, but it seems that Revanced Patched Youtube isn't downloading the videos in the same way as the normal YouTube app does anymore. The patched YouTube is far slower than the normal YouTube app in downloading, even if I don't notice any difference at all when playing back videos.

I have tried repatching and reinstalling the app with the updated patches on my YT Revanced, however nothing changed and the download speeds of videos on YT Revanced is still terrible compared to the non-patched YT app.

I just want to be able to use the patched YT Revanced more since it has a lot more useful features like Sponsorblock compared to stock YouTube.

Additional Notes: YouTube app version used for patching was the recommended one (v20.14.43) and Revanced Patches was the current latest as far as I know (v5.47.0). Phone used is Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.

Unfortunately an issue with spoof streams patch not handling downloads so downloads uses the unspoofed streams and is slow

Dang. That's a real shame, guess I'll have to put up with the normal YouTube in-app downloads...
