Unusable on large monitor because fonts are microscopic

Description

The panel that pops up in response to a left click on the icon or to the keybind for "Activate toolbar button" is totally unusable on a 27" monitor because the fonts are so tiny. How can I fix this?
Stylus 2.3.14 in Firefox 140.0.4 (64 bit) in Openbox (with no further DE per se) under a minimalist Ubuntu 18.04 built from the mini.iso.

I have a 30" display and the popup is fine, so I guess you're using some kind of font scaling in the OS which could be bugged in the browser or maybe you're using font scaling in the browser's settings. Can you name another extension without this problem so that I'll be able to look at its code?

"Clippings" has no problem.
I'll look at some others, but I can't off hand think of any others that pop up a text ui.

I also searched "dpi" in about:config but only came up with 4, only 2 of which had numeric values, one of which was set to -1. The other seems to be about printing. I can't think of anywhere else to look in firefox for some setting. Already looked through the gui "Edit, Settings." I tried doubling the default font size but that had no effect on this.
I also tried this - https://uso.kkx.one/style/163797 - and changed the font size from 11 to 55 and it had no effect.

Another example is "Port Authority" which has 2 different kinds of text pop up, one of which looks very similar to the Stylus one I'm talking about. It pops up when I click "Port Authority" in the extensions drop down menu to the right of the url bar. It has 3 different font sizes in it. I can't get both pop ups up at the same time, but while the smallest of the 3 is similar to yours, maybe a tiny bit larger, the other 2 are much better. The biggest is great. Their other text pop up is the automatic one when it blocks a port, and it is also quite legible, but a very different style. I'm perfectly willing to believe there is some hidden setting in Firefox that might fix this, but I can't find anything like that. I do have other font size issues with Firefox, Some are way too large, like the menu that has a "shortcuts" entry to reset key bindings. So if there is some non-obvious Firefox setting that might effect this, I'm all ears. My firefox toolbar buttons are unreasonably tiny too, if that tells you anything, but I can get around that with key binds. The fonts in the main firefox menu and in the context menu are fine.

Try opening the popup, then press Ctrl key and scroll the mousewheel forward inside to change the scale of the UI, maybe you did it previously by accident. If that doesn't help, here's some more threads to pick:

1. Do you use a global scaling of the UI or fonts in OS and browser? Stylus should be scaled automatically in these scenarios.
2. As it's unclear what happens, please add a screenshot of the popup + some surrounding area.
3. Does the problem affect other UI in Stylus like the manager or editor or options?

That works. It's not a persistent setting, and not perfect, but it is quite usable. If nothing else, I can script xdotool to zoom it automatically. While of no practical importance in my case, strangely, the popup starts out to the left of the button, with the right boundary underneath it, but on about the 20th up-scroll, it jumps to the right part of the screen, with the left boundary under the button. If I continue to scroll, it eventually runs off the screen on the right. It never centers. That might be important for somebody who needed to zoom it that much, but the usable range is plenty for me.

Not that I'm aware of. I have a default Zoom level set, but zooming in or out before invoking this doesn't affect it. I have default font settings but they aren't set to over-ride and changing them doesn't affect this. As for the OS, it is a very minimalist Ubuntu 18.04 built up from the mini.iso with no full monty DE as such, just the Openbox WM, so it is less likely to have some hidden setting I'm unaware of than otherwise, but it is still possible. I've set swappiness to 10 to reduce hard drive wear, but while lower than the value typical of most graphical environments, it's not radical. That's my mainstay OS ATM, but I have multiple OSs installed, all gnu/linuxes, and I can check this in one of those if you think it might be useful. Most are old systems I've abandoned but are still bootable ('cause, you know, just in case), but I have an up-to-date 24.04 that I expect to transition to when I finish tweaking it, and for that matter it's easy enough to install another if you think that would be useful to understanding this. As for Firefox, I don't see anything like that in either about:config or the gui preferences dialog "about:settings" (from the main menu: Edit, Settings) but it's conceivable in either case that there might be some relevant setting that isn't intuitively obvious. At least not to me.

Attached. You can see the size of the Firefox menu font. That would be ideal for me, but I can use less. As is, I have to lay my eyeball on the monitor.

Further update: Thanks to your zoom suggestion, I have successfully scripted invoking this dialog with a keybind, positioning the pointer, and scrolling up 20 times. My kludge is inelegant, probably isn't robust, and isn't instant, but fast enough. It'll do. If you can suggest some scriptable, preferably posix scriptable, way I could query the all-styles-on/all-styles-off state (red button/green button) I could make it a little better still. So, while this could be improved, I'm still interested if you have more thoughts on this, and I can still try any diagnostic procedure you want me to, don't knock yourself on my account. I'm sure you have competing priorities. I wouldn't regard the issue as closed, but I would now regard it as low priority, at least for me, given my half-assed work-around.

Try adding this style:

Another thing to try:

1. right-click the Stylus icon in the browser's toolbar and tick Turn all styles off
2. open the popup.

If it's fine now then you have a style that breaks the popup. Find that style:

1. open Stylus manager
2. replace manage in the address bar with popup and press Enter
3. open the popup, which will list the matching styles for the popup
4. untick a style and temporarily toggle the master switch button
   

If the popup is fine, you found the culprit, otherwise turn all styles off, go to step 3, and check the next style.

Of course, that only does that with styles turned on. The font size responds, but the window width does not.

I could add some more xdotool commands to the script and get it appreciably bigger than that before it runs of the screen, but that's enough for me.

Turning styles off does not change the issue.
