When clicking on a previous/ongoing import from the #2523 , show the Import Details page:

• Report overall import status and # of blocks of each type
• List blocks that failed to import
• "View imported content" button to access the resulting collection

One request from some of the dev team when we initially shared out these designs was to have some way for a site admin to see the details of errors. I don't quite have a great grasp of the types of errors we'd expect, but it may be worth considering adding to the scope if you have time.

@edschema So far, I've only been able to make the import fail with broken courses (which are broken due to all the development hassle). @navinkarkera @rpenido Have you been able to find other ways?

@edschema My question here is, what do I display as the reason in that case? A general message like "the course has an error," or do I display the message the system gives me? For example:

Value stored in a String must be None or a string, found <class 'dict'>, Block-location:block-v1:SampleTaxonomyOrg1+CC22+CC22+type@sequential+block@sequential02ec4491, Field-name:top_level_downstream_parent_key

And that would apply in cases where we don't know the exact cause.

@ChrisChV The only errors that I got are exactly the ones related with the error message that you mentioned here.
