Problem
When someone mentions the bot in a Slack channel ("@nova wsp"), the bot receives the raw mention token as part of the message. It then answers about the token itself: "What would you like me to do with @U0C5MPSBZCK wsp?"
Goal
The bot sees the message the person meant. Its own mention is removed, and other people's mentions read as names instead of user IDs.
Acceptance criteria
- A mention like "@nova wsp" reaches the bot as "wsp".
- The bot's mention is removed wherever it appears in the message, not only at the start.
- Mentions of other people keep their meaning (shown as @name when Slack provides it).
- Direct messages without a mention are unchanged.
- Discord mentions of the bot are stripped the same way.
How to verify
Focused test for the inbound mention text. Live: mention the bot in a Slack channel with a short greeting; the reply answers the greeting and never quotes a user ID.
