I'd like to ... get some metadata about the pictures shown on the OTN homepage

On the landing page http://opentraits.org/ , a set of images are displayed, as per this screenshot:

A quick look at the page source reveals that pictures.js is pulling these images from the images folder, but nowhere on the way is there any metadata to speak of — whose image is it, what copyright, what is depicted and how it relates to OTN.

The expected behavior would be to have something similar to the image displayed at this page, which always gives an image of a clock depicting the time when the page was loaded, and clicking on the image leads to a page with all the relevant metadata.

Likewise, the licensing of the OTN logo is not clear, and as the OTN paper Open Science principles for accelerating trait-based science across the Tree of Life is not openly licensed either, so its figures cannot be reused in openly licensed contexts like this presentation at this week's OTN workshop.
