Packages

The latest OOCRAN release includes packages to install it in different UNIX distributions. They can be found here.

Supported distributions

  • DEB for Debian-based distributions (Ubuntu, Mint, etc.)
  • RPM for Redhat-based distributions (Fedora, CentOS, etc.)
  • NIX for NixOS

DEB

Debian is one of the most popular Linux distributions. Ubuntu or Linux Mint have been built based on Debian. The .deb file contains executable files, documentation, and libraries. It can be installed with:

$ dpkg -i bbu_4.0.2.deb

Then, you can use bbutx or bburx to run, respectively, the transmitter or receiver with the parameters specified in /etc/bbu/bbu.conf.

RPM

The other very popular Linux family is the RPM one. To install .rpm packages use:

$ rpm –ivh bbu_4.0.2.rpm

NIX

NixOS is a Linux distribution built on top of the Nix package manager. The .nix file contains the instructions and dependencies necessary to build and/or install OOCRAN in NixOS.

You can build the file using:

$ nix-build bbu_4.0.2.nix

Or install it with:

$ nix-env -f bbu_4.0.2.nix -i bbu
