Hi @agarwalbikram you need to provide --workspace with full project path

Modify that your Windows OS Project Path, I am using macOS.

The issue was something else, It was Double Drive Letter (C:\C:)

This happens because the script incorrectly resolves the file path on Windows using new URL().pathname.

How to fix it:

1. Locate your global installation folder for smart-coding-mcp. On Windows, it is usually: %AppData%\Roaming\npm\node_modules\smart-coding-mcp
2. Open the file lib/config.js in a text editor.
3. Modify the imports at the top of the file to include fileURLToPath:

4. Change Line 83 (inside the else block for Server mode):

• Find: const scriptDir = path.dirname(new URL(import.meta.url).pathname);
• Replace with: const scriptDir = path.dirname(fileURLToPath(import.meta.url));

Why this works:
new URL().pathname returns a path with a leading slash (e.g., /C:/...) on Windows. When passed to path.resolve(), Node.js prepends the drive letter again, creating the invalid C:\C:\ path. Using the built-in fileURLToPath utility handles platform-specific paths correctly.

also maybe you update the mcp using npm update -g smart-coding-mcp there new improvement in v1.2.4

It's still important to use --workspace and point it to your project path. The vector database cache needs to be written inside your project’s .smart-coding-cache folder to ensure everything works as expected.

You can make it auto-detect the folder using a placeholder variable!

Most MCP clients (like VS Code, Cursor, and Antigravity) allow you to use a special variable ${workspaceFolder} in the configuration. The IDE will automatically replace this with the path of the folder you currently have open.

Why this is better:

• Auto-Detection: When you switch between different projects, Antigravity will automatically send the new path to the MCP.
