Changing presets does not take effect immediately

If you add new presets, they do not appear in the list until you restart GNOME Shell.

Worse, if you rename/drop an existing preset, and then try to start the preset that has been renamed/dropped you will get a a timer showing "NaN:NaN". The switch shows that it's running but it will never end.
